Edge AI
Learning path · Volume I
Overview
Edge AI runs models on Linux devices close to the sensors and people that use the results, so memory, power, and response time limit the design. This learning path pairs Introduction to Machine Learning Systems with experiments on a Raspberry Pi. It assumes Python and introductory machine learning.
Materials
| Resource | Use |
|---|---|
| Volume I | Readings on the lifecycle, model compression, hardware acceleration, and deployment. |
| Lecture slides | Decks for the Volume I chapters the path draws on. |
| Raspberry Pi kit | Setup and experiments in image classification, object detection, and local language models. |
| Edge AI Engineering | Marcelo Rovai’s companion book, with a weekly lab sequence. |
For instructors
The path has no semester syllabus yet. The companion book’s weekly lab sequence, maintained by its author, offers one possible order. Each experiment needs a test run on the classroom hardware before it is assigned.
